A rare Postumus Providentia

    But is there this handful of geeks who want it enough to pay that much? That is the question. How many Postumus reverse variety collectors are there to drive up demand on what Doug described as an otherwise common reverse? A truly unusual reverse like post above by Seth maybe, or some very strong historical connection maybe, but on an otherwise well known reverse not signifying an important historical event, are there enough of these collectors?

    I do not know the answer, but just postulating a couple of reasons why I believe 10-20x pricing would not be my estimate sir.

    I have no idea why, but that does seem to be the case here. The most recent one that surfaced in the Obolos auction TIF linked closed at > $600, where the typical example of the common variety would be one you could expect to pay $30 on eBay. Past examples of this variety seem to score in that ballpark too.

    very nice coins, i find this emperor, interesting to me he looks like he had a smaller posture.
    short neck or so?

    He does look short, or at least short-necked. To me he resembles a garden gnome.
