I recently cam across this Walking Liberty Half and it has, what looks to be run damage.

Since I am not familiar with cuds, rim strike-throughs, etc., before I dismissed the coin, I just wanted my opinion confirmed.

There is no way that this is anything other than PMD, is there?

It's a better date coin, and the price is right, but I don't want to collect problem coins.

I'm turning to my friends here on CT to confirm my suspicions.

    Is it simply PMD? IMG_2729.JPG IMG_2730.JPG IMG_2731.JPG IMG_2734.JPG IMG_2731.JPG IMG_2729.JPG

Definitely looks like PMD to me.

I kind of thought so, but the coin is a better date and for the money would have been a steal

I'd have to agree with the above, it looks almost like some sort of machinery got it right on the rim. Sorry. What's the date on it?

I'm not an expert, but I always have an answer for everything. Most of the time it is, "I don't have the slightest idea!"

Looks like someone used it to remove a bottle cap.

    Maybe damaged from a pendant/bezel/holder.

I have to ask, are the flat spots on the edge flush with the reading, protruding past, or indented?

Thanks everyone. I was really disappointed to see the damage on this coin.
