My girlfriend works at a Credit Union and a woman actually brought one in to get $50 cash because they wouldn't accept it at the gas station. It would have been mine for $50 if one of the other employees hadn't opened her big mouth. My GF obviously knew what it was and got a kick outta telling me the story, watching me squirm until she told me that the customer left with coin still in hand.....
Proof that there are still a COUPLE stupid people out there- the woman and the gas station clerk. Oh well, it's a story I'll never forget and my girl won't forget holding it. She still can't believe how heavy it was for it's size!

"The government" stopped having an official price for gold in 1971. Gold is a commodity. It's worth whatever the market says it's worth, like any other commodity. It has nothing - that's right, nothing - to do with the value of a dollar.

No, they didn't. They have one for silver too. And both prices are documented just like Fatima said they were.

The dummies are out there. A few months ago a knucklehead paid my son using a $1 ASE and one dollar bills to buy smokes. LOL Of course, he brought the ASE home to daddy. :)
