RickieB My question in my mind, Have you seen the note. It looks to have sharp corners, relativly well centered, perhaps exceptionally well for this rarity. Then I see the PCGS CU 63. YES. Pull the trigger. If you can afford it. I don`t know the census, but I will guess a note like this is offered infequently... My opinion is "Go for it" if it doesn`t slam your budget.
I just re read the whole thread. I see you didn`t. And happy you didn`t. When we see an opportunity, to buy one of these rare things, I guess the lesson learned is do that extra hour or two worth of homework. We are all guilty of this. Rarities like this sometimes show up so infrequently, that it is often hard to find recent sales, prices realized etc. We often just want to go for it. You asked for advise and you ended up with the correct advise. Kudos to oldbucks for doing the research!!!! And his advise about impulse buying.... (me guilty at times!!!)
Howdy BZ... i have done business with this Dealer before and I have always found his prices fair. I called him on this note and he replied that the rarity of this note, it's condition PGGS 63 PPQ was indeed hard to find and he bought it from Heritage at auction and under priced as well. Good for him. I checked with a valid source on this note and it is valued at ~ $1850-2000.00 in todays market! It just so happens that this dealer got a great auction buy! RickieB
i disagree with you....do some more searching....I have found over the last 18 months those notes have sold from $1100 to $1800.00...$2500 for that issue and condition is a bit high. Jeff .Just my opinion. I would still renegotiate.
Howdy OldBucks... I appreciate the info...I will not purchase the note and realize that the price is a bit high. My source (very respectable) has informed me as well. I was tempted, however, temptation is a costly commodity at times. I did edit the info in the previous post as I mis-typed the info...thanks for bringing that to my attention. Regards, RickieB
Well..Phoenix.. I do not mind paying a premium, but this was a rather large premium. As mentioned before, all high grade notes are going up in price, but I am willing to pass on this one and look for another. RickieB
