WOW! That's unbelievable how much people will pay for an Error coin. It's like winning the lottery, I guess. With only 3 known specimens, that's definitely Rare.
Great article! Thanks for sharing. :)

Wow, I don't follow varieties very closely, but THAT one's certainly spectacular.

Does anyone know why it went to GC and not a Heritage or Legend?

I think more sellers of big time coins are beginning to recognize GC's ability to bring higher hammer prices because of their lower buyer's fees. Heritage and the other higher priced houses are charging 8-10% more on the buying end, and it's been gradually costing them market share. I don't believe GC will ever reach the same level of business as Heritage does in coins, but I do think they'll grow much more than Heritage will going forward.

Yup. If you're able to bid a million dollars on a coin, would you rather pay $100,000 premium or $200,000 premium? And yeah, to most folks that rich, it does matter ... majority of cases, they got rich because they are very smart about money.

A pic of the million dollar Lincoln is below. Cal

I had no Idea that it was that bad. I have yet to buy a coin online or at auction. That some serious money even at 10G's.
