Wow, not sure where you are getting that from...I never said that better grade, higher value coins than the one I have just posted sell for less than $25. That would just be silly.

I researched relative prices for this coin by doing ebay sold listings, and I see coins in worse condition selling for more, and coins of my grade selling for a bit more than what I paid.

In my opinion it was a good buy if someone had offered it to me for what you paid I'd have bought it too and if you can get the creeping crud off it it will be a real good buy

what is the title of the thread were you and many of the others insisted that there are many very low priced, better coins, with higher values, on ebay, on a regular basis? and you have mentioned similar things on some of your other posts on other threads also. i remember, that you claimed to have won an ebay auction for a silver eagle for 99 cents, and you posted a link, that was one of the examples that were posted on that thread. did the seller ever give you a refund and cancel the transaction for that 99 cent silver eagle?

I never won a silver eagle for 99 cents. I found a link to an auction that ended with 1 bid at 99 cents. I don't know if the buyer ever got the coin. Plus, silver eagles and draped bust cents are 2 different types of coins. Compared to sold listings in the same price range, I see a bunch of lower quality coins (meaning that people paid more money for a less-detailed coin compared to my purchase).

Back to the issue at hand. Simon found a reasonable coin at a reasonable price.

Fifty dollars is reasonable, because the date and variety are easily identifiable.

Well - to me the price is about right for the coin. I say nice pickup.
