Here is a Follis of Maximinus II that I acquired late last year from eBay. Overall, a well-defined coin with decent color, in my opinion, but, difficult to attribute. Nonetheless, the attribution I made below is only tentative, as this is only the third Roman coin I've attempted to attribute. Maximinus II, AE follis of Trier RIC VI 845a OBV:IMP MAXIMINVS PF AVG laureate, cuirassed bust right REV: GENIO-POP ROM Genius standing left, turreted, loins draped, holding patera and cornucopiae T-F across fields. Nice Folles, @Bradley Trotter . Here are mine (I do not focus on Roman Imperial era coins) Maximinus II as Caesar, AD 305-308 Æ Follis, 26mm, 6h; Trier mint, 1 May 305 - early 307. Here are a couple of mine: GENIO IMPERATORIS type (Cyzicus) and GENIO AVGUSTI (Alexandria) with Serapis head:
This one surprised me a bit - I never know how big an LRB is going to be until it comes in the mail - this was a big one. Maximinus II Daia Æ Follis (305-306 A.D.) Heraclea Mint GAL VAL MAXIMINVS NOB CAES, laureate head right / GENIO POPV-L-I ROMANI, Genius standing left in chlamys holding patera and cornucopiae, HTΓ in exergue. RIC VI Heraclea 26b. (10.92 grams / 26 x 25 mm)
Mike has a point. The first coin of @Alegandron is larger than his second, but the photos show it the other way. Maybe the maximum diameter of the coins could be given in mm (for all images of coins) so readers can know how big they are.
Here's Genius holding the head of Sol: Maximinus II Daza, AD 309-313, as Augustus. Roman Æ follis, 21.4 mm, 4.88 g, 12 h. Antioch, AD 312. Obv: IMP C GAL VAL MAXIMINVS P F AVG, laureate head, right. Agreed. I updated my attribution. Some of my coins I captured seveal years ago, some have old / bad photos, some I use Seller photos. I am not a photographer. I have learned to save pics in larger formats, but have not learned to truly scale them. All of my coins are locked up at this time, and I regret that I cannot review and re-photo them. Excuses, excuses, mea culpa.
