I have been complaining for a while that the Semi Quincentennial coins have not been released fast enough. I received my silver set today and would like to share. I didn't realize until a few days ago that the Sacagawea dollar had a commemorative reverse. It either shows how poorly informed I am as a veteran collector, or how poorly the mint has gotten the word out to the general public. It's probably a combination of both.

    At any rate, here goes.

    The double dated cent.

The Liberty Dime. This marks the first time Franklin Roosevelt has not appeared on the dime since 1945!

The Statue of Liberty Half Dollar. This marks the first time Kennedy has not appeared on the half dollar since 1963!

I think that the designs are quite good. I am sorry that many citizens have not gotten to enjoy them.

CoinCorgi Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit!

Is the Native American golden dollar double dated (on the rim of course)???

To me the reverse design doesn't seem to be specifically a 250th year anniversary design. Like all the previous reverses, this seems to be honoring "important contributions made by Indian tribes and individual Native Americans to the development and history of the United States. The U.S. Mint is proud to offer the Native American $1 Coin Program with changing reverse designs each year and a common obverse design featuring Sacagawea."

The mint has been dating the Sacagawea Dollar on the edge for years. To me it's the pits because you can't read the date when the coins are in an album, and you can't even read the date on the coin in the Proof set. It's a bad idea that should not spread in my opinion.

The reverse of the dollar coin does reflect a Revolutionary War theme.

True, but the 2021 design sorta does too. Nitpicking here :)

I took my 2026 $1 coins out of their Dansco album to check - not double dated...just 2026.

I like the set. Made me go to the mint to try to order one. Seems they are sold out..... So what does this mean to the "Omega" cent that was selling for stupid money last year?

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

For the most part, I like these. They definitely could have done more switching up the cent and nickel. I really like the half dollar and the Mayflower. Constitution and Gettysburg are boring designs, especially since Lincoln is already on the cent!

I think it was no secret at the time that there would be cents in future years - just not issued for circulation.

And I don't think we're anywhere near the end of the stupid money.
