Hear me out and I think you'll understand.</p><p><br /></p><p>It started out with Richie saying -</p><p><i>"I wonder if the dipping resulted in an odd toning pattern, perhaps the dip wasn't fully removed at once or something."</i></p><p><br /></p><p>And then Insider replied with -</p><p><i>"Dip stains from improper neutralization."</i></p><p>And he continues with - <i>"We all have a "right" to like what we like;"</i></p><p><br /></p><p>And Richie replies with - <i>"You said we all have that right...you are correct." </i>And -<i> "I don't need you to tell me what I should like ...."</i></p><p><br /></p><p>Now does anybody here NOT see that the two are saying the same thing ? They are in complete agreement with each other. And yet the animosity in the rest of the message, and later messages, is pretty hard to miss.</p><p><br /></p><p>And it's all because of two things, 1, this comment -</p><p><i>"That said, some astute collectors eventually learn what is considered attractive/acceptable to the "market" and modify their personal tastes."</i></p><p><br /></p><p>Now that statement is accurate, it is completely true. But yet it, coupled with the 2nd thing, Richie's apparent dislike for Insider, led to further animosity in the thread.</p><p><br /></p><p>And then there's this -</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Is there anybody here who does not see what that is ? I'll tell ya what I see, I see fuel being thrown on the fire. At the same time I also see a member, in a way, but not the right way in my opinion, saying just ignore it. But that isn't how ya do it, wording the comment that way just throws fuel on the fire. And why was the comment made that way ? Apparently, because of Mike's dislike for Insider.</p><p><br /></p><p>Now, all of this said, 90% of what Insider and Richie both said - they are in complete agreement with each other. I really don't think that can be disputed. And yet the animosity from these posts fairly drips off the words ! And all because Insider made a true and accurate statement, but he threw an elbow jab to the ribs at the same time he made it.</p><p><br /></p><p>So who's at fault here ? Everybody is, there can be no doubt of that. But it's all over nothing !! Absolutely nothing.</p><p><br /></p><p>And what is the lesson to be learned ? Well I don't know any other way to say it - all of you, get over yourselves ! Each and every one of you, and I'm not just talking to Insider, Richie, and Mike here - I'm talking to everybody on this forum - you're all better than that. All of you know how to act, how to actually talk to people with civility.</p><p><br /></p><p>I mean c'mon ! Everybody in this thread AGREES ON 90% of what was said. But yet they go out of their way to make it hostile. There's no need to do that - none. You do it because you want to. So yeah, you all do need to learn how to read English. There was no animosity in the original comments - none. But yet a conscious choice was made to treat them as if there were.
