<p>[QUOTE=&quot;the_highlander, post: 31601, member: 1592&quot;]heres my story from hell.</p><p><br /></p><p>i had lot of 1 gram gold bars which i thought i would sell on ebay.Im sure youve seen the type.</p><p><br /></p><p>anyway i imported 200 of these to the uk, and then proceeded to sell them.</p><p><br /></p><p>this is what happened</p><p><br /></p><p>out of 50 i listed</p><p><br /></p><p>4 were bought with a fraudulent credit card, 3 from 1 person , 1 from another.(i got off lightly others lost a lot more to these people)</p><p>This transaction was paid both times through paypal, paypal then took the money out of my account out of the blue 4 days after i had recieved it, at which time of course i had sent the items.They wont pay it back because i didint have tracking for the items.I had proof of postage from the post office but this is not good enough they require tracking!!!.</p><p><br /></p><p>so im 4 down out of my 50 so far.</p><p><br /></p><p>next 5 sent to a canadian address, the buyer did a credit card charge back on me, He basically robbed me.I know this fellow recieved them but hey how do i prove it.he even signed for them but said there was nothing in the package. total lies.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>so now i am 9 bars down out of my 50, im already making a loss.</p><p><br /></p><p>next thing to happen is a customer in england claimed the package had no spamp on it and the package once again was empty, he has a reciept from royal mail as he had to pay the postage when the package arrived.Once again i have a stamped certificate of posting for this item from the post office and it would be very strange indeed if i hadent put a stamp on it and they stamped the send card.So i know this guy was genuine but its obvious i was too.But i paid him his money back+ i paid him the postage cost the royal mail charged him.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>10 down 40 to go</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>A seller bought 12 of these didint pay</p><p><br /></p><p>i then relisted the none sold ones of the 50</p><p><br /></p><p>4 more bought didint pay</p><p><br /></p><p>And now today this happens</p><p><br /></p><p>i recieve a letter from fed-ex demanding i pay import duties/vat for the said items.</p><p><br /></p><p>well 24k gold is exempted from import duty and taxes, but they send me this bill over 1 month since i signed for the package and they never asked them.I phoned them up explained there exempted but the mint as i bought them direct from the mint, had not put the correct code on the items to show what they were and they got charged duties as if they were jewellery.now im stuck with a bill of 17.5% vat +&nbsp; import duty for the items which comes to just under 500 usd for the 200 items,And you guessed it too late to tell them now.so off my 500 usd cheque goes.Was no mention on fees when it was delivered.</p><p><br /></p><p>im near in tears here</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>in all i sold i think 30 out of the 50 that i didint (so far) have any problem with.And all totaly through no fault of mine </p><p><br /></p><p>the items were cheap to, i was undercutting all other sellers of the same item, so i was purchasing the items from the source paying only spot+10 usd per ounce which is brilliant price for individually carded 1 gram bars.</p><p><br /></p><p>And i was selling cheaper than anyone </p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>And i lost so much money in what should have been a good sourced easily sold product.im an honest guy i have sold over 500 items on ebay and have 100% feedback.ive never stole a thing in my life.Its just a pity so many others in this world are not the same.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
