Glad you enjoy 'em! Not too sure many others read them, so it's good to know there's an audience at least! Sets were always fully priced, sure. But they're getting more "fully priced" all the time! I think the reason may be because the sets largely exist in Korea, and rarely outside of Korea. Most of those Foreign Proof Sets (2001~2004) are probably starting to migrate to Korea now, too.
First of all, I LOVE your site. Tons of great information there for a prospective new collector (which is a gross understatement.) Now, according to your website, it was a good thing to save both of these from the bargain bin?
Thanks for your kind words. And, heck yes! It was a very good idea to get those, and from the bargin bin of all places. I'm finding these key dates harder to come upon all the time now. And when I do find them at coin shows (in the condition shown in your photos), they are starting to be priced higher than I had experienced in past years. I'm sure these finds were much more common in the past, but nowadays are getting more and more scarce. Still, I have some reason to believe that the best examples of these coins still reside outside of Korea. The nicer 10-Won key dates are also starting to migrate back to Korea though, too.
