This is a counterfeit of a rare $20.00, National Currency bill. It was drawn on the National Bank of Commerce in New York, New York. The number of the billnis 66333. There is a reverse repair. The date appears to be Jan. 19, 1801.

The bill is in low condition having been circulated for quite some time. There is a signature on the reverse with the date of Oct. 2. I can only make out a few letters.

They didn't make National Currency notes in 1801, right? Are you sure not 1881 or something?

Look at the last photo. That's what it looks like to me.

Are you sure? In my opinion, it looks like 1865 when that bank was originally chartered.

I agree. It looks like 1865.

I did say appears. It's faded on the bill and due to the overall poor condition it's difficult to read.
