A myriad is 10,000: 100 times 100. Like dozen and score, it means an exact number. However, in modern English, the word is used more symbolically and less literally to mean some large, undefined number. As a professional writer, I try to stay aware of my audience. I do not always adhere to so-called "dictionary definitions." For one thing, dictionaries only reflect how people actually use a word; and that changes over time. Dictionaries are not legislation. Moreover, the writer or speaker who refers to "the" dictionary ignores the fact that authorities can differ in their opinions. That being as it may, allow me to point to one dictionary. myr·i·ad | \ ˈmir-ē-əd \ Definition of myriad (Entry 1 of 2) 1 : ten thousand 2 : a great number a myriad of ideas myriad adjective Definition of myriad (Entry 2 of 2) 1 : INNUMERABLE those myriad problems also : both numerous and diverse myriad topics 2 : having innumerable aspects or elements the myriad activity of the new land — Meridel Le Sueur https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/myriad
As near as I can tell, the Mint has done nothing to push this idea. The ANA has sent out several emails, nothing from the USM. The bill sits in congress with - last I remember 16 or 17 co-sponsors. It typically takes 2/3 of the house. The Christa McAuliffe Commemorative Coin Act of 2019 had 311 and it still took the bill being introduced in the Senate, passed and then house action.
Well, the opening statement says..."With proposed legislation seeking commemorative Morgan and Peace silver dollars for 2021 languishing in Congress!" We all know that's a lie...Congress doesn't do edited!
pre-33s are where the Beauty is at .. and not the Morgan; I've never liked that design. If the US MINT produced those and sold them at melt then I'd be a buyer of one or two, but only after gold goes under $1300/oz again. I bought a kennedy too, but secondary used market. I also have a Mercury (secondary market), but I did buy the Standing and Walking Liberty from the Mint .. just because I like those designs and thought the premium was worth it back then.
