A Game (then a Resource): Old Collector Tags, Tickets, Envelopes. How many do you recognize?

    This was my first thought as well. Good call on the unique AR. You’re a huge help on this kind of stuff, Curtis.

    After looking into it a bit more I suspect this might be a Spink tag written by Leonard Forrer, who was head of the ancient coin department at Spink until ~1952. The handwriting looks similar, particularly the mix of block and small cursive.

    This coin also has a direct link to Spink through Forrer’s successor.

    It looks like it might even be written on the same type of paper as the Forrer example. It would be nice to see more examples of tags written by him though.

    That's possible, need more samples of Forrer... But here is my probably George Muller writing sample. I see several similarities (captial G's, E, A, T, even the capital O's). I'm not sure how much that is just standard mid-20th cent British handwriting, but it looks possible...
