Hi all! I just bid on my third "proper" auction, and thought I'd share a few of the coins I won. This is actually the first time I've won individual lots (as opposed to group lots) at auction. Bear in mind my budget is very limited (which is why I mostly buy on eBay lol), so these are not all fantastic condition examples :) The prices for this auction were pretty decent in my opinion. Elagabalus antoninianus - my first one of him Can't go wrong with a Gordian III antoninianus... And how about another one? Quietus antoninianus - my first coin of him. Pretty poor condition, but that was what my budget allowed :) Vabalathus & Aurelian antoninianus. This one was from the "Tareq Hani Collection", and has a nice portrait of Aurelian, but the Vabalathus side is somewhat weakly struck _____________________________________________________________________ There were a few other coins I didn't win, but thought I'd mention. I sadly didn't win the Smyrna Claudius II antoninianus, which has an obverse die match to one of my coins I also thought about bidding on the antoninianus of Nigrinian they had listed. It sold for a surprisingly reasonable 220EUR, but I thought the obverse (particularly the bust) looked a bit strange, and decided against bidding (220EUR is a very large amount of money for me, and I would hate to have bought it only to find out it was tooled or fake) Show me some of your coins you bought from Savoca!
