When it comes to security you always have to have backup systems just in case. I'd have a separate power source for security systems alone so that nobody could bypass them. Again this is only necessary if you need a secret room to protect thousands of dollars worth of stuff.
That is why I asked that...it seems to me this could only be done with batteries since such a cutoff system will disable any power to the house.
not if you have a super secret power source If you really wanted to you could make your house more secure than the white house. it would cost a ton of money intially and a ton more for maintenance but if you are rich why not? You will need your house surrounded by walls with a gate that has 7 security guards along with a top of the line security system to enter. Next you need various trip alarms so that you will know of anyone who tries climbing the walls. Next keep some bloodhounds to attack and intruders and then let the security finish them off if need be. Inside your house you will need multiple security guards in every room and have a guy in command that handles situations and notifies you if anything happens. Next for your own protection be sure to have weapons hidden around the house for quick access by you and your security team if needed. next you want a safe room for your family to be able to hide in and access easily along with hidden rooms to store valuables. After that you would need an assualt helicopter team on call and several camo snipers surrounding your property in case a whole army shows up at the front door. For added protection consider having a few gatlin gun turrets on the top floors and a surface to air missile launcher to take care of any susectious aircraft entering your AO.As well as a few armored vehicles in your secret garage for quick escapes. If you do all that I'm sure you would be safe.... Unless the entire US Army comes after ya.
I use the secret room at my bank, where I have a secret drawer, which can only be opened with my key....
In my mind, a safe room and a hiding-place for valuables are two completely different things. Nearly all of us could get by with two cubic feet of hiding-place; in fact, you want to leave some common coins in plain sight to distract the burglar -- take those, instead of searching for good stuff. A safe room, on the other hand, has to withstand assault, severe weather, floods, and fires. A second-floor safe room should have emergency access to the attic or roof, which is tricky to do; a first-floor safe room should have access to the basement, if any. Again, difficult and expensive. One way to design a safe room is to build a house with lots of odd angles (think, artistic) and offsets, where nobody can figure out which room backs up or stands adjacent to which other room (your builder LOVES this, it's an extra 5% worth of goofy client whims). The ideal safe room would seem to be long and narrow, not square, with its own stored food, water, weapons, and communications. But in my mind, it is not meant to be occupied more than one day, at most. Note there are radios and lamps that run for several hours after ten minutes of cranking -- Amazon sells a wide variety.
Well...to keep this about coins...they probably flipped a coin to decide? Ok. Time to close this thread.
First , if you haven't read the rules, no political or world event postings are permitted, and the definition of that is by the administration and not your opinion. Secondly, just because someone posted something that is a rule violation, quoting it ( since it requires an active effort) involves you in that violation also.
why hide coins? thanks for the lousy dam link that is ruining my computer even more, just like so many of the ads and links on here.
OK, that's kind of what I figured. I have never had one...but I assumed there was some kind of battery backup.
