.. which pretty much showcase my unfocused approach to collecting! Hope you like these. Va. ha'penny, MS 64 Bn. MS 62 Bn, from a well known collector Well worn, but the look won me over. The last 3 came from the Richmond, Va. coin show last weekend.
One more, since I'm a Trade Dollar guy.. not as recent as the others, but I don't think I've posted it before
Nice attractive pieces. I collect the same way. If it is attractive and I keep thinking about it, it will go home with me if the price is reasonable.
What a beautiful 1818 one cent piece. You gotta love the full circle Die crack. And the Franklin is amazing.
I really like your unfocused approach! The Virginia Half Penny and of course the 1818 Coronet Cent are specially pretty. Congratulations on the new additions.
Great stuff. Love that VA 1/2d. The CircCam Hawaii quarter is cool. The constrast on that is quite nice. Even the Franklin is handsome to my eyes, and I'm not really into business strike Frankies. That large cent looks ni... Hey!!! Wait a minute! (O how I shall miss thee, Matronly Lady Liberty. You are frumpy looking but lovely at the same time...) Here's my Hawaiian CircCam, purchased with some of the proceeds of recent sales.
thanks for all the comments, my friends. Great looking Hawaii half dalah, Lord M.! and I'm very pleased to be the current custodian of Her Frumpiness, she makes me smile.
I really never tied your CU username and this one together until now. Y'all multiple-username folks have the advantage over me when it comes to recognition, since I'm "lordmarcovan" everywhere. I sure recognized that large cent, though! Your pix of it are awesome.
There is a name I know … Me either same name all over ( Sometime not a good thing ) @lordmarcovan - How ya doing mate Yes nice Large cent it is
The photos did turn out well. Just an old nikon D40, manual 105mm micro nikkor and a very solid copystand.
Yeah I go by "Kaz" over on CU, which is where I spotted the 1818 cent on the BST when Lord M. had a sale of some of his "eclectic box." I've always wanted a Randall Hoard cent with the die crack, but the Rd and RB ones were always too $$ for me. This one has the perfect look, with mint red outlining the devices. Same for the Virginia half penny, I had looked at RD ones but got scared off after seeing an example in an OGH that was growing stuff on it over the course of a year.
