That's what I thought but I started to see where it appears--the little hole right in his eye and the lines only appear on the 3 different leaf
On the cent --look at the S and it's different than any other I seen and on the dime if you look inside the hole in the middle you can see a centerpiece sticking up----impossible to do outside the mint
The "dot" could be a die chip, but there's no added value and it's so minor those are just ignored. You're wasting your time on this small stuff.
Some might have errors, but worn coins tend to have damage as well. New collectors who are unfamiliar with the minting process, see the damage and think, "that looks different, maybe it's an error" If you're implying that "not an error" is an automatic response, you are mistaken. Members respond " not an error " because after looking at the pics, the coins are not an error. If you feel that a true error coin is being classified as PMD, please post your opinion. I can only speak for myself, but if you have a reasonably explanation of how something could occur during the minting process, post your theory.
By the way, I learned something today that I never knew. I was watching "Caught in Providence" which is a court TV show for traffic violations. The judge is Frank Caprio who is of Italian descent. He is always asking pregnant women if they would like to name their child Francesco (if it is a boy) which is Italian for Frank. Today, he mentioned that "Cheech" is a nickname for Francesco. ~ Chris
