Barry is obviously incompetent and must be replaced quickly. Good news, I'm available for the job. I'm gonna take the carthaginian trihemistater thank you and I don't need a gift box, it's for me.
Funny...my first reaction on seeing the second bunch was "OMG, I actually have one of those coins! I have an Antiochos II, though mine's not as nice." And then I realized. Oh...that's an Antiochos II stater, and I have a tet...which is about the same size as that Larissa tet laying on it... Also, it's Antiochos I Soter that I have, not Antiochos II Theos, though that's fine. Oh well. FWIW, I really like my tet. The coin is happy too. It looks nice and big in my album without any dekadrachms or other really big coins with bigger names that would make it look puny.
One of these days I plan on selling my entire collection just for one coin like these xD. I really love the gold staters with the Corinthian helmets.
@Barry Murphy, I assume that one gets a jumbo holder. How large a coin can fit in an NGC holder? [Good, no one suspects how envious I am of that one’s owner. ] - Broucheion
Funny. Gold coins are not small denominations so I would expect them to be around it high grades. What I am less certain exists are the small silvers that were spent daily in the market rather than hoarded in pots. There have been some in 'great' collections like Pozzi or Rosen but most I have seen offered look like mine. What happened to the good ones?
