I really like AJ's arch for the die work and minute details. ro1974's Genius reverse die work is good also.

I like the closed door, Temple of Janus coins. They were not closed often.

Of all my coins, probably the coin that's closest to being truly mint state or FDC is my Nero aureus:

    6d - Nero AV aureus - dual BB.jpg

    NERO 54 - 68 A.D.
    AV Aureus (7.33 g.) Rome 64 - 65 A.D. RIC 54
Obv. NERO CAESAR - AVGVSTVS Laureate head r. Rev. Roma seated l. on cuirass, holding Victory in r. hand and parazonium in l.; in exergue, ROMA

The reverse detail on Roma is simply amazing.

    Magnificent specimen eidmar!

In my "nero getting fatter and fatter" series this is about a 3 (0 being most skinny, when he was a kid). So far in this thread I only see Zumbly's antioch depicting him in a slightly fitter state

Excellent As and Dupondius @Mikey Zee ! I am sorry I missed your post. I think I "liked" it because I was away but on my iPhone.

    Butt-shots: nope

I have nary an As or Dupondius of Nero, however, I have a couple TETS for him...

They are quite nice, especially seeing you got them cheap. I wasn't a member of CT then, so just catching up on old posts.

A beautiful assembly of the coins of Nero!

Here are some which I have not posted before (besides the sestertius).
All have defects and flaws of some kind, but all have my love!

A denarius, a semis, and a sestertius all depicting Roma seated on reverse.

    Nero Denarius - Roma Seated
    Nero Denarius Roma Seated-Obv - 1.jpg Nero Denarius Roma Seated-Rev - 1.jpg

    Nero Semis - Roma seated
Semisses (plural of Semis?) are relatively scarce. This is a bit rough, but the depiction of Roma still clear.
    Nero Semis Roma-Obv - 1.jpg Nero Semis Roma-Rev - 1.jpg

    Nero Sestertius - Roma Seated

I was gonna add my Nero, but then figured-out that this thread was a couple of years old ... that always rattles me a bit (I'm a bit slow today ... and most days)

Yep, And I'm still stunned the Patriots pulled it out in OT!! :nailbiting::wideyed:

Being from NY I'm forced to 'dislike' the Pats;)....and as a NYJ 'fan' I'm jealous as hell LOL:banghead:

What an organization! Always a play-off favorite despite reduction of draft choices, change of personnel or anything else!:cigar:

It was the best Superbowl ever! Yes, I have seen them all.

And one of the best football games ever, also!

I did not root for either team (tended towards Falcons as the underdog), but the game play was just spectacularly entertaining! Yeah!

Wow - some nice coins :D

I have a Port of Ostia sestertius, but it's a grim sight - this as (RIC 220) is much nicer:

I've seen a few similar examples above!

Well, since we 'resurrected' this thread, I guess I'll throw in the denarius I purchased in the interim:D
