Meow does not see anything of significance. In fact, it does not even like MD. Its just a normal shiny penny.

    Not a doubled die

  9. What is the definition of a class 7 Modified Hub Doubled Die? From Error-Ref.Com or The Official Black Book?
Don’t you get the point of “if a part of the design is not removed all the way it will leave an impression on every coin the die strikes”? -Error-Ref.Com-

Who knows how many were made VS. how many escaped. The error is easy to catch because of the very visible UNITED. Unlike other coins.

Where is your photo of the doubling of "United"? I do not use the black book. Error-ref says there are such, but do not have link to examples. Wexler's and Flynn's Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents describes it and also gives photo of a 70S DDO that is a type 7.

  12. Really it has to do with what was caught before release. That 7 mark was good enough where it was able to pass US Mint inspection... That’s why there is so many....

  13. I do not once say doubling of UNITED, there is no doubling of UNITED.

And what is a "7 mark" ? The ClassVII ( 7) refers to a type of Doubled die that was not designated by the mint, it was designated by the coin experts with doubled dies.

I think you heard about this from confused sources. Here is wexler's column on the class 7 1958 which was made by modifying a 1957 die to make a 1958 ( NOT a 1959), so I do not know what you are seeing. Jim

Since my name was mentioned, I'd just like to say that the cent featured here shows nothing more than die deterioration.

The rotated hub from a double hubbing is on the obverse. “Disregarded hubs that are used must be thought to be used for a reason.” I am quoting Error-Ref.Com. There are more pictures in the now 4 posts that elaborate more than one accepted numismatic law for the class 7. Proof UNITED is a disregarded hub. STATES-S is a remaining design.
These are the two pictures I previously omitted but will include... the third FG is a combination of the two other uniquely different working dies (another numismatic requirement is two separate working dies being actively present in the proven creation of a final die, which FG was eventually released as. ITS A PRETTY BIG ONE) of the making of the final FG, which is the third.

Every case of every doubled die comes at the beginning leading up to what is pursued by the US Mint. America- A was taken off the hub while M has an offset direction doubling from the rest of AMERICA.
