I know this is not a coin but I know you will forgive me as it´s a nice piece with history. What I have here is a pin that is very rare and actually the only piece known to exist. This was given in 1919 to the players of a Danish football club that came to Iceland to play the 3 best teams. This was actually the fist time a foreign country football club visited Iceland and the team called Akademisk Boldklub was at the time the best club in Denmark. Now the great thing about this is the story behind the match and visit. When the men from Denmark arrived in Iceland they were invited on a day long horse ride trough the country. Now I write horses and I know for those who dont, Long trips can have a huge effect on your muscles as you are using them in a way most people do not use muscles. The day after the trip the first game took place. And as you would guess the Danish team could hardly walk because of pain in the groin so Iceland won the fist game 4-1. It is also said that they gave the players SKYR withc is a very heavy milk dish with heavy heavy cream and half of the team threw up because of the bouncing around on the horse. I just love storys like this :) But as I said the pin is very rare and the only one known and it allready is sparking some interest but i´m allready falling a little in love with it ;) Siggi
