A Decent Affordable Flatbed Scanner

I have done well with an HP Scanjet 3010 which can get 3D objects like coins well unlike a lot of other scanners (recessed areas out of focus).

In selecting a scanner, be sure it can get 3D objects good.

Nothing wrong with that. But look at the Epson Scanners, They are highly rated and if you check out their website they sometimes offer refurbs shipped free at very attractive prices. A good software program which allows you to manipulate scanned images is "Vuescan".
