A couple of real oldies

    Going through some wheat pennies and found a couple of real oddities. At least to me...

    the 1916 has obviously seen its better days but the reverse rim reminds me of a geology class since it appears to have 3 separate levels on the left side. It that a cud on the top level?

    the 1919 is in better shape but what is that on the bottom reverse seemingly touching the end of the grain stalk? Are they just parallel scratches or possibly a strike through?

    Probably a lamination error of the planchet, pretty tough to tell from these pics.
