I left my sandwich out on the counter for 15 minutes while reading CoinTalk. When I came back I found it was swarming with roaches! Look at the big green and brown ones, horrible! I startled them and they all jumped in surprise. I chased them all off the sandwich and pondered my next move. I ate the sandwich anyway. Hey, it was good turkey and Munster cheese. Mmmmmm. Private Message (PM) me your guess as to which of the roaches does not belong in the first photo and tell me why by Monday, 12-4-2017 at 8 PM Eastern time. Correct guessers will be entered in a random drawing. Winner will get their choice of any one of the coins in the photo. Winner can live anywhere worldwide. Winners of previous ancient contests welcome to enter. Pass the mustard. John
LOL... you can't go wrong with pictures of coins AND food together. Without a doubt one of my favorite pics shown on CoinTalk this year .
My wife comes in to see what I am doing. After a lengthy explanation of the context for the joke, she says, "Well, this is not the craziest thing you have done by a long way..." Yeah, I guess so.
This is a good learning experience for me, I believe I have narrowed it down to three. Also the monument reverse on the big bronze it really nice. Thanks, Jacob
For people arriving late, there was an ongoing joke in the ancients forum that Gordian III coins were as common as cockroaches. This does not imply any lack of appreciation for his numerous coins, rather the opposite. They are a great area to collect because of their variety and availability. I realized I had 13 of his coins without really trying to collect them, and thus the contest.
When I read that the first time, I thought that the prize was one of the coins PLUS getting to live anywhere in the world. ;-)
Those are the type of roaches I'd love to let in my house. Oh, and that sandwich? It looks really delicious.
