Contest is officially closed as of Saturday. I most definitely should have picked a less-busy weekend for holding it, but I will have winners posted as soon as I have time to run the RNG and calculate totals. Just finished up my physics test that has been stealing my time so I should have winners posted by tonight. I apologize for the delay!
Finally had the time to finalize the spreadsheet and run the RNG today. I took everyone's first, second, and third number and subtracted it from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd number the generator produced. I then took the absolute value to get rid of negatives (guessed higher) and added the three resulting numbers to get a winner. The RNG's three numbers were: 260, 257 and 291 (classic random grouping!). After doing the math, the winner of Koen's 600th post contest is: NUGLET!, with the single sub-100 departure of 92. Coming in second and third places were Fretboard and aubade21 with departures of 154 and 174 respectively (oddly the only two sub-200 scores). Congrats to nuglet for winning. I have PM'd you and you have 48 hours to respond or your prize will be forfeited to fretboard, who will then have 48 hours to respond, etc. Thank you to the forty participators in this contest, started over a year ago, and finally complete. RIP Koen. And God bless you and your family. You will always be missed.
Congratulations to the winner, and thank you to lincolncent for a good contest and a great reminder of a great person.
Congrats to the winners! And a special thanks to lincolncent for doing such a nice thing in the memory of a member who sounded like such a nice guy.
Congratulations to the three winners and a big thank you to lincolncent for this contest -- it's really neat of you, lincolncent, to do this for your friend, Koen, and I certainly admire you for it. R.I.P., Koen.
Wow!!! I was so excited to see that I had won, I was jumping around the print-shop where I work. This is the first time I have won a contest of any kind. :smile Thanks a lot to lincolncent for the contest! I had unfortunately never talked with Koen, but I think he would have appreciated lincolncent doing this contest in his honor. That was really nice, and caring. Thanks again lincolncent!
Not so good. It fell at an awful time because I had a thermal physics and differential equations test last week so I couldn't study then, followed by a very busy weekend. I probably got an hour's worth of studying in total. I almost passed at any rate lol. Not too worried, though, cause I've done well on the other ones and each one isn't worth much of the grade.
Hi All! I went to my P.O.Box today and received a great prize for the contest from lincolncent! I am very happy about this nice array of coins from all over the world, and some silver included too. Some of my favorites are the 1930 10 Centime, 1943 Three Pence, 1918 Philippine Centavo, and the Cent stamped with Kennedy (what is the story on this cent? I have seen these stamped cents before, who does this?) I was very stoked to say the least. I have a big interest in W.W.2 and the occupation coin from France was a cool surprise. Also, in honor of Koen I saw an occupation coin from 1945 Belgium, very nice! I have traveled to Belgium and was treated very well from the people there. I went to a W.W.2 museum that was actually in a guys house. His entire house was chock full of a very extensive war memorabilia collection. This man thanked me and my friend as Americans for liberating his country. I sensed good-will from all of the Belgians we met. So I have somewhat of a personal connection to Belgium. My best to Koen's family. Thanks again to lincolncent for these cool coins to add to my collection, it is much appreciated.
