Hey, hey, Deacon Ray. They look great. I like the Hadrian, for some reason. I just think his coin portraits look good, I guess. The one coin of Nerva I have owned to date also had that clasped hands CONCORDIA EXERCITVVM motif on the reverse (but in bronze, not silver). I really like sets such as these, it allows me a false bit of closure in such huge arena. I too prefer going with "Adoptive Emperors." Here's my set and I included a lady simply because I felt like it.
Hah, well put! That reminds me-- do others here fill out Heritage's annual survey? I do, for the chance to win $10K of credit there (I can always deslabbinate their wares ). I filled out this year's survey today. One of the questions is something like, "What coins do you need to complete your collection?", and my answer was something snarky about the delusion of ever "completing" a set if you collect ancients. (wonderful group, Nemo!)
I'm sure it was lost on them. Question: would $10k free credit for their sales be worth the tax bill that would come with it? If their coins sell for 3x fair value because of the plastic and you live in a state with hefty tax, it might be close.
As usual, a phenomenal presentation of some great coins, @Deacon Ray! Thanks for showing them! Here are the obverses of nearly all of my adoptive emps & family: Plus I'm looking forward to the arrival of my new addition, just acquired this weekend: The 5 good guys plus Commodus are all such important emperors that ideally I'd like to have bronze and silver for each, plus an "as Caesar" if available. I've been waiting for a portrait of Marcus where I liked the style and that wasn't priced into the stratosphere, and finally this one came along! As another plus, it's also issued in the final year before his death.
