Hey guys i had another great day on the hunt. If you are a collector of these please chime in, Flea market find $10 a piece..... I took all but 2. 1) $10 wild bill hickok.. 2) $20 riviera 3) $20 casino queen 4) grand casino-NO denomination 5) foxwoods. NO denomination 6) foxwoods. NO denomination So $60 for the lot, and they supposedly came from a collector. So what say you? AND I probably posted this in the wrong forum. MY bad
I forget, with these casino tokens is it only the outer rim is 999 silver or the inside? Or does it depend on the token?
Depends. I believe the $10 ones are all inner core silver plugs but the bigger denominations like $20 and up have slight variables from token to token. I have 3 that are just marked 999 and no denomination. I hope somebody can chime in with some knowledge.Much Thanks
These are called Silver Strikes. You can get more information about them here..... http://silverstrikers.com/ Chris
Thank you for your input chris. The site you posted had a good bit of info.. The only question I have left is how much silver can I expect to be in the Grand casino and 2 Foxwood resort tokens? The ones that are not clearly marked w a denomination anywhere?
I know of someone with about 100 of these yet will not part with them. Here is mine and it is a rare one, a good buy...
I see yours is a sans denomination like mine. From the 1 other one i seen on the bay like mine it was advertised as a $40 size and were askimg. 57 usd... I weighed it and it right on the 1.5 troy oz mark. I guess thats how u can tell the difference. The lower denomimations weigh less
Oh and btw Ethan that one of yours is killer man.I like the pirate buccaneer, I can see how people get hooked on these. I am not a collector of bullion but in my opinion this is definitely the way to stack silver.
I have about a dozen different pieces from various casinos in Vegas and Laughlin. One local casino used to drop Morgan and Peace dollars in place of these up until the mid nineties.
While on a summer water skiing trip we stayed at Harrah's on the river i put in a quarter got 7777 and this came out .
If i ever went to vegas this silver strike would be the only machine I play. How cool it must be to win a silver collector token gambling on slots

The definition is Limited Edition silver token won from slot machines and is in a protective plastic holder. Some call them "Silver Premium Tokens", but most of us just call them "Silver Strikes". These tokens are issued in many casinos throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Cruise Ships. The first of these tokens were won from slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992. The tokens have been issued with redeemable values of $2, $3, $5, $7, $10, $12, $20, $28, $40, $200, $300 and range in size from 1-1/2 inches to 3-1/2 inches in diameter depending on the value. The $200 & $300 are the only Silver Strikes to be paid by the attendant, due to its size and weight. The $12 tokens are from cruise ships. The current Silver Strikes being issued today are almost all $10 denominations, with some $300 strikes. However, the machines in use today have the capability to dispense $40 strikes. All of the $2, $3, $5, $7, $20 & $28 Silver Strike machines have been removed from play for some time. To see an image of what a $2, $3, $7, $10, $20, $28, $40 and $200 strike looks like, click on this link. Silver Strike Images The $300 strike looks the same as a $200 strike. Colored Capsules are considered chaser strikes, normally they are lower mintage, but that has not always been the case. A few casino's put older strikes in colored capsules in the past but as of 10/16/11 those casinos no longer have strike machines in play. Images of filling the current machines with strikes, click on this link. Sometime in 2005, a new thinner center insert strikes with less silver (~ 0.50) appeared. In 2009 CLAD (no .999) $10 strikes appeared, even some red capsules. However, the red capsules should return to .999 silver. $20 strikes have a .999 Silver outer ring with some 24kt Heavy Electroplating (HE) and a Bronze 24kt Heavy Gold Electroplate (HGE) on the center insert, approximate Silver weight is 0.75 troy ounces of Silver. $28 strikes are .999 Silver with 24kt Gold Plating (GP), approximate Silver weight is 0.65 troy ounces. $40 strikes are .999 Silver with 24K Heavy Electroplate (HE), approximate Silver weight is 1.54 troy ounces for the large size $40 strikes and 1.26 troy ounces for the small size $40 strikes. $200 strikes are 1 troy Pound (12 ounces) of Silver and may have some 24kt Heavy Electroplating or for the newer RWM mint strikes may have colorization. $300 strikes are 1 troy Pound (12 ounces) of Silver and may have some 24kt Heavy Electroplating.
