Hope all is well today. I have been in search for Close AM's and Wide AM's like everyone else I guess, This is a 1992 Philadelphia minted coin that I have ran across and wanted to share the photos and and get a bit of what your thoughts are.
Thank You and Have a Blessed Day

Looks like a "wide" to me, but I believe that a "close AM" is the one to look for in 1992.

doug is correct, you have a normal cent...these are what to look for..

    1. 1992 Close AM - extremely rare
    2. 1992 D Close AM
    3. 1998 S Close AM
    4. 1999 S Close AM
    5. 1999 Wide AM
    6. 1998 Wide AM
    7. 2000 Wide AM - least rare

I thought that as well but looking at the G it doesn't seem to have a crossbar on it. Just wanting to double check seeing that this is a pretty Serious Coin.
Thanks for the reply Have a great Day

The crossbar on the G is not a "pickup" sign for wide/close AMs.

As far as *I* know it is not. The distance between the "A" and the "M" and the position of the "FG" are for wide/narrow.

Go to lincolncentresource.com and search for "Close AM" in their listings. OR...

Google the same. This will teach you what you need to know.

Your coin, as posted, is a normal AM, wide, for 1992. It is worn and discolored and all the letters and numerals are flat...weak strike, worth face value.

The "FG" issue pertains to the reverse design change for 1989 cents, that was used on 1988 cents. Search our forum for "Reverse of 1989" for the threads with this info.

There are "distance" differences that apply to the initials for wide/close, not the letters' style or font.
