I have a 1996 penny that has a double A in America. see photo. any value other than face? its also missing the "of" in United States of America. thanks
Need closer pictures of the A. Most likely split plate doubling or something along those lines. The missing "of" is from a grease filled die. Fairly common.
Not with those pictures. What are you using for a camera? If you are using a phone, try not zooming, get as close as you can while staying in focus, then crop your pic to show only the coin. Keep your lens parallel to the coin and don't use the flash.
I think you're seeing a mark/blemish on the coin that is coincidentally the same size and shape as the A.
Simple grease filling on a well used die. It is actually a lot more common than folks would like to believe and a definite mechanism of learning for newbies to the Error World. Go through a $25 box o Lincoln Cents and I could almost guarantee that you'd find multiple examples of similar "missing letters" due to the filling of the die with machine oil and minting debris (i.e. dust).
There are people who collect grease filled die errors, I at one time put together a set of Lincoln cents for every year. As to the other issues it is hard to say because the images are bad. If you like contact me on a PM and I will gladly help you with your imaging of coins. This is what one of my images looks like.
