Well, I (and I think maybe a couple of other members) were sort of hoping....you need a fourth in Bridge.
Nice find Barbi! I don’t see any doubling on it but it always great to find an old one like this. Congratulations!
Absolutely not the age of the owner, but coming from longevity is a thing... I will be there some day, well I would if I were counting beyond 39...
I don't math, that's what you have calculator's for...or children...etc..., however, a good game of slap jack - I'm in!
I did not mean that to be directed toward you, and I feel bad now. It was just a tongue in cheek humor attempt because it was obvious (to me and I think one other member) it was the age of the coin. I thought the thread title was clever, actually. It had mystery...is it personal age, is it how many found, is it the coin age, etc. Good job. now, I must confess ignorance. I do not know what slap jack is.
1939...a magical movie year...an ominous year in world history...the better part of a lifetime for many. Like this nickel, folks from that year are still in circulation and looking good...congrats to you all, whoever you are...!
That would make me 153 and I am still kicking as long as I can hold on to my walker and don't kick too high. lol
I thought it was funny and that's why I responded and though I've never played bridge - my brother (16 years older) used to play with with my cousins . He was always telling me I was too little to play... however, he hooked me up with slap jack - you flip the cards over and the first to slap the jack declares war is the version he taught me.
Ahhhhh! Now I know. When I was a kid (yes, I did have a mother even though many don't believe it) it was called War. The King was the catalyst needed to declare.
Oh yes, we played both, however my mother told my brother it was too violent for me ( she didn't want me to think about anything other than sunshine and lollipops).
