8 real? SPANISH HAMMERED COIN pre 1600's

    If it goes to 3.5 then I;d still think it was a fake. It needs to be between 3gm and 3.2gm.

    As how to authenticate it, you can always send it to the one of the grading companies like NGC or PCGS. Or you can contact this guy and send it to him - Dan Sedwick - But somebody has to examine it in person to say for sure either way.

    As to value, no idea really. But a guess would be maybe a few hundred, maybe less.

    Years ago my father gave me one of these coins. a coin dealer called it a piece of 8. And its a fake, its made out of Lead. The dealer offered $ 8
    for the coin. Fake or not, its pretty neat...
