    Can someone please educate me as to what is making the crazy texture on this coin? This a new one on me.... Thank you in advance for any feedback you can provide!

    That was struck from a well used die. Orange peel is a classic example of this.

    Looks like die deterioration to me. They made so many bicentennial coins...its not surprising.
