Especially after CW just reported the unaudited mintage had dropped to 224,981.

Still hanging on to mine. Apparently, the dust is settling slowly on these.

  4. Yes, see my post#1. Is it 224,981 or 179,921? TC

Iam inclined to agree with you topcat and Rickup but why would the mint conceal the true mintage of 179,921 until their annual report comes out? Must be an accounting error somewhere.

  7. Maybe 179,921 of the reverse S proof have been sold, and 224,981 of the regular S proof have been sold. The difference could be the coin and currency set that was issued later and included the regular S proof. TC

That would be awesome - that would mean the mint sold less and made less due to their underhanded dealings - that would mean collectors made the mint pay for their greed and we created our own rarities.

I got this info from http://mintnewsblog.com/
The 179,921 reported in the annual report was the number of sets
shipped in the fiscal year ending Sept 30. The actual number is
    224,981.

  10. Not the news I wanted to hear but makes sense (even for the mint). :rollling: TC
