CT Rules 5 – Copyright violations Copyright law is very specific. It clearly states that any article may not be copied or reproduced without the express written permission of the author or holder of the copyright. And contrary to what you might think – everything is copyrighted, including pictures. What that means is that if you find what you think is a neat or very informative article or picture on another web site and you wish to share it with your friends on Coin Talk – you CANNOT just copy & paste that article on Coin Talk. It is against the law. If you wish to share, please by all means do so. But do so in the right way. Copy the first sentence or two and paste them if you must, but it is preferable to just use your own words as an introduction and then post a link to the article you wish to share. Or a link to the picture you wish to share. And if the article is found on a pay site where you must purchase a subscription to view that site such as Coin World or Numismatic News for example – well then you are out of luck since the link won’t work for non paying viewers. So please, absolutely DO NOT copy/paste articles from such sites. Posting links to download sites with pirated copies of copyrighted books is not permitted. Posts or threads that contain such copyrighted material will be edited and/or deleted.
I'm still not sure what's going on, lol. I was goofing and piling on, not knowing what's going on. My bad. Hope this isn't serious. I'll be leaving now...
Its from this thread. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/pilgrim-tercentenary-28-000-likes-celebration-coin.381552/
I found that coin on ebay and a great example so I shared it and not in violation I've done that many of times and I have never been edited. If you got a problem with it file a complaint to the complaints department.
I've got a problem with anyone who violates our rules. You have done it repeatedly and don't seem to care that you do. Then you have the gall to brag about Likes? Give me a break! No! @CoinJockey73 should know what you do. Everyone should!
That doesn't not violate the rules now screw off,i haven't been edited for copyright in a while and im not doing it for likes its history.
Everyone chill @potty dollar 1878 I think for your own sake, please just say where you found the pictures when you post them just so people don't get the impression that you own the coins.
Read the rule I posted in #21. Now, you're lying! Some of your posts have been edited for this violation.
Yes I never said never if you can read right. For copyright edited posts it hasn't happened in a while and I stopped.
I'm pretty aware of what i do, and I'm pretty sure I've only been warned once for improper use of language, which was in the form of a quote, and i deservedly was warned. It will never happen again. I missed the quote part when i read the site rules. Otherwise, i think I've done quite well.
Thtas only article related e.t.c,and doesn't require links I've posted coins from ebay on here without being edited for copyright.
Ok sorry I used to but have terrible long term memory for certain things and forget often but I still do it as much as I can.
