You know, and maybe it's just me, but when literally nobody else agrees with me on something I do start to wonder if just maybe, that means I should rethink my position. But I admire your tenacity if nothing else. Most rats choose to desert the ship when they realize it's sinking; but you're willing to go down with it rather than concede a lost cause. That's almost admirable.

 

That is not true. But nice try. I have had several people agree with me. Remember, my whole contention was that you cannot prove it was 100% fake. In that I succeeded. People here did agree with me on that. As a matter of fact, you even agreed with me. Yes, you agreed with me. You said something along the lines of, "I can't really prove it's not real, I'll give you that". Then right after that you went on about "I can't really prove that unicorns or dragons exist either". So yes, you ultimately agreed with me. BOOM!!

What you seem to fail to realize is I never said your point that "you can't prove 100% sure the coin is fake" was wrong; my assertion has always been that point, while technically correct, is irrelevant, as the default position for a highly questionable coin should be to consider it fake until proven otherwise, not real until proven otherwise. I also think you missed the point of the "dragons and unicorns" comment; it is utterly ridiculous to say that anything that hasn't been disproved is equally plausible. Besides, it's always difficult and sometimes impossible to prove a negative.

The fact that people agreed with you that you can't prove 100% for sure it's fake is rather meaningless when nobody but you seems to think there's any reasonable chance that it's real. You won the battle, but lost the war.

And ultimately, no I didn't really agree with you... I agreed with you on one minor point which is almost irrelevant to the issue at large. And even then, I really only agreed with the letter of your statement, not the spirit lol... so I wouldn't be celebrating as if you won some sort of major victory.

The coin is fake, period. Is there a non-zero chance that is real? Yes. Is that worth risking any amount of money or time on? No. Is it real? No. A simple motto to live by that will help you avoid getting scammed by things like this: if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

 

Ok. I'm done. I have said what I wanted to say and even though some of us disagree I think we are all much better friends because of it. You know how sometimes your best friends are people who you got in a fight with or were already friends then had a fight but it made you better friends. That's how I see this thread. It's the fight that made us closer. Now we are one. One against the non-coin collectors of the world.

 

You know, the longest arguments I've ever had with people were with people that agreed with me 99% but wanted to beat that other 1% to death lol... but let's just say we agree on the big picture and agree to disagree on the rest. Let's just call it a draw.
