My only question, and I don't know the answer because I don't collect them, but would a damaged envelope affect the value? If so be careful how you open it.
Any bets on whats in there?? Ill say, a bunch of 1 sided cameo dreck in 1, and a toned beauty of a penny and/or nickel in the ' nother one. Oh, and i only have two 16 oz spaecial edeetion collektor cans left to drink. Eek gasp!
Becky now takes care of old Numismatist who has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel . What lessons can we learn...... candy is dandy, but Becky will make you leave her your coins. Or she'll turn off the machine that's keeps breathing.
Well . ...I'm betting the the slugs that Bart put in there....you know that "Bart" is a villain name....... you know if you name your kid Bart he's a bad seed..... it sort of like naming your daughter Hazel you know she's going to work in the no tell motel cleaning rooms.
I doubt the envelopes will add to the value, unless there are some OCD lunatics who collect such a thing. EBay is full of these "unopened proof set envelopes" but they have all been opened and checked for rare varieties. Open them up and photograph them. A picture is worth a thousand words.
I am gonna do my best to get some pics. There isn't any Majors, but beingz that I haven't ever opened a sealed set. I am not disappointed! Got some . At the House! I will take pics Though!
Well I don't mean to crack them out of the encased mint plastic. Just open the envelope. I never understood people who would buy "unopened" wax packs of baseball cards and never open them. There's videos on YT. Here's my collection. ALL UNOPENED packs. What's the point? Where is the fun?
Here's a sample from 1956 http://www.ebay.com/itm/1956-PHILAD...448511?hash=item4643d0803f:g:3s4AAOSwT5tWNirN The seller has sold 80 with 10 left to sell
I have all ways been the buyer that's likes to touch, and give a full evaluation, of the coin before purchasing.
Like Bob (robec) mentioned above, replacement envelopes can be had on ebay. I, myself, am more concerned with the condition of the pliofilm and not the envelope itself. Sometimes they can have some interesting things written on them.
