    I only know these are Draped Bust cents and in poor condition, but I thought they deserved posting still.

    The reverse is really nice. How come the reverses on these Draped Bust cents are generally better than the obverses?

    There is more detail on the reverse and it "protects" the coin as a result.

    This is true for all large cents and even the majority of US coins, in point of fact.

    This 1809 S-280 has an old ANACS photo cert. VG8 obverse, F12 reverse.

    Wow guys, I am impressed.

    After seeing some of those last few Lance, I now realize how off my grading is on these early copper. I would definitely over-grade by a long shot.
