One I used to own. The pictures from the album did not turn out any good - all blury. One of these days I need to sit down and pull each coin out and take pictures. I know this a couple of coins the photographs make we want replace them in the album.
Boy, those are some gorgeous '31s! Lance and Mark...Bravo! Looking back at Dave's posts...WOW! To catch up... First, an 1830 from the Rasmussen collection, an N-1: Next an 1831 N-3 Small Letters that NGC graded 55. It's now raw.
One last blast from the past for now and then I'll stay the course....maybe. 1798 S-160 A very special cent "Mon bien-aimé cent". A very tough variety in any condition, the S-156. Just 5 known above VG, with the finest a VF25.
Nice 1831's, guys! Love them. We're getting into some fun varieties. Cool. Here's an N1B, R2. Medium letters. I was just looking at my large letters N3 and thinking, "boy is this thread revealing the need for some upgrades". I haven't been paying enough attention to this set lately. Lance.
Please, for the love of all that is holy, tell me that you are NOT a Georgia fan.....and to think I used to think you were cool. lol Signed, The Rambling Wreck
That S-156 has got to be the finest known then. Very, very nice. Here is my only 1831: (variety: unknown)
1834 is wild with varieties. The first is a modest N6 R3 in G6-ish condition. Large 8, large stars, large letters. I'd like to upgrade this but can't find a nice affordable one. The second is an N2a R1 in AU. Small 8, large stars, medium letters. The third is an N4 R2 in XF. Large 8, small stars, medium letters. The last is a N5 R5+, a tough one; maybe VF20. Large 8, large stars, medium letters. Searching for these, and sorting out the varieties can make you crazy. And blind. Lance.
Dave, Whew, my confidence is restored. To catch up: A '33 N-6, a coin NGC graded 58: And a '34 N-2 I've owned for a long time.... Have fun...Mike
