Lance, that looks like a really nice cent all around. It has nice even color and great detail. PS Verdi-Care does not necessarily improve coins, but it does conserve them into the future so no additional degradation occurs.
Yes - I have them all, but maybe not pictures. Only missing two varieties 1793 liberty cap and 1839/6 for the dansco album. Most are not the quality that you, lance and Eduard post - I think so far I only plan to replace 3 or 4 coins when I see the right ones.
Sorry for being out of sequence with this '98 (just found the pictures). It is a rather common variety for the year, but shows an interesting die break on reverse.
Eduard, Is your 1819 a bit "beige" or "tan" in hand? Just curious, as that's one of my favorite colors for large cents....Mike
Sorry, this is another coin out of sequence: 1811 Cent (not the overdate) Nice surfaces, fairly good condition, BUT unfortunately cleaned.
A Randall Hoard cent from 1820 graded 64B. The story goes it lived in a buried keg for a number of years: An 1820 -- a fairly tough date -- graded XF 45:
I want to jump in on this thread to tell all of you contributers how much I appreciate having the opportunity to closely examine your large cents. I have loved these old coppers for many many years and now I'm sorry I did not pursue a collection when I had the chance. Keep showing them off - I can't wait for more! Don
Love that '21, Lance. Here's my '22 N-7 -- I'm not really that happy with this recolored coin, I'd much rather have Mark's :
Moving onto 1823.....since I don't have an 1822 (at least not one worth showing) - here is an 1823/2. In this case the coin is much nicer than the pictures - not difficult with my terrible pictures.
