#61306 Heritage Auc. Today

Hi,
Could someone look at the Probus Coin and tell me what you think of it. It has no bid but mine….61058 Lysimachos also..Are they worthy?

I am beginning to worry about fakes.

Auction is tomorrow, my error.

Heritage is very reputable in terms of fakes, so I wouldn't worry about that too much. Their big issue is that coins tend to go too high there.

I can't comment too much on the Probus, but you can find similar Lysimachos coins on VCoins for $300 or less. They also commonly come up at Roma for ~100 pounds. Personally, I wouldn't bid more than $160 on it.

 

That Lysimachos is also CNG tombed. They don't slab em if they have any doubts.
As far as Probus, they have 6 different coins of his. He is a very common emperor, I have no doubts about any of them being legit.

 

Also keep in mind that with Heritage Auctions the majority of the bidding takes place in the last few seconds of the auction.
