Normal everyday change order nothing going on out of the ordinary until I arrived back at work. Picked up 10 cent rolls from the bank. 6 were customer wrapped and 4 loomis. When I broke open the first CWR for a register and saw the amount of wheats I knew they would all likely have the same result. I was not let down. 187 total out of 300 coins. It was a glorious day and I felt like the biggest kid. I had never found a steel cent in circulation. Today I found 7. Tomorrow=these coins, a 6 pack, and I.
I will be going through them tomorrow and will try to post some of the results. Tonight is Olympics with Wife.
Update us on what all you find. Can you do the update while the six pack is still kickin'? Nothing better than drunk coin posts. You and the other member, that found all the silver halves, are single-handedly reviving coin roll hunting. Hope there is a 1914-D in there for ya.
Fun day so far. Got most of these in order. I believe I have all of the teens finished. Oldest was 1909. No S or VDB. The 1910S and 1913S have been pretty cool finds. Also there were 9 1943s not 7. 1943 - 3 1943 S - 2 1943 D - 4
Well I had a old folder laying around. I was able to fill 64 out of 89 holes from the find. I placed a steel in place of the 09svdb. I like it. So 64 out of 88 holes. Almost 73%.
With my luck on $5.00 worth of Pennies I usually get 1-3 wheat cents and maybe about 6-8 Canadian cents every time I go get more rolls. It is really on a down slope with cent rolls hunting.
Definitely some semi-key dates in there... assuming they're G-4 at minimum, you're looking at: $15 for 1910-S $5 for 1911-D $14 for 1913-S $15 for 1922-D $8 for 1926-S
That's an amazing batch! So many semi-keys in there! Did you go back to that bank and see if there were more rolls?
I went back that same day and there were no more. In line at the bank today I saw a lady turn in $13 in rolls. During my transaction I ask the teller if I may look at one of the rolls. All wheats. Then I notice several of the rolls have SAVE written on them. I bought all 26 rolls. The one I looked at in my car is all dated 1955. More pics to come when I pick up a 6 pack and break these open. Stay tuned!
First roll. 31 wheats. Coolest is the counter marked EDWARDS 1938. Onto the next one. Oh also this find is sponsored by Modelo Especial.
Okay so the first skunk roll. Wife finds it amusing and joins in on the fun. She "claims" half the rolls and apparently this is a contest now. This was her roll. 47 wheats. She is setting all the 55s in a stack.
