500 uncirculated nickels I bought these from my local bank at face value. Total score in my book. 4 boxes of Philadelphia and 2 boxes of Denver all 2006. Can you guys give me an idea of their value? Or what I could do with them open them search for errors or sale by the box.some of the coins are starting to tone slightly actually looks cool. Pretty much face value unless there are some error, variety, or high grade pieces hiding in there.

    Im totally confused
Why do the rolls state 25?
Why do the boxes state 500?
I thought it was 20 nickels per roll which is $2.00 worth.
Your picture makes no sense to me

Edit*** looking at your picture carefully I see that it states 25 nickels. I have never purchased rolls before, only have actually filled rolls.

Hmm, yeah. It's usually $2/roll, which is 40 coins, though, not 20. Weird.

    Agreed!

These are not "official" rolls from the US Mint. I know, because I bought dozens and dozens of the official $2 rolls from the US Mint. Sure, they may be uncirculated, but that doesn't mean they are unsearched. In all likelihood, these coins are probably the ones that didn't make the grade in a bulk submission, and they probably weren't good enough to put into the 10-coin Westward Journey cases, either.

To me, they're only worth face value.

By the way @imprezax06 , if you decide to search them for errors, please let us know if you find anything. I'm curious because I have two $50 US Mint bags from 2006 - one Philly & one Denver - I bought them from the Mint, and I'm trying to decide what to do with them.

Looks a little scammy to me.

    $1.25 per roll.

    Hmm.

Find the same with 2009 nickels and THEN you've got something.

    SapphireSilver I vote for coins!

Yes I see 10 $25 dollar rolls on top row and there appears to be 10 $25 rows underneath based on the inferior portion of the picture which based on the $25 stamp equaling $500. But does leave????'s

Those are $1.25 rolls (25 coins). The company that sold these have a horrible BBB rating. I'm pretty sure I remember the tv commercials similar to the gold clad coins ads running now. Chances are the reason there are only 25 coins/rolls is they picked out the best 15 from each mint roll before reselling for at least 2-3x face value with a fancy sales pitch.

Thanks for the input guys. When I get home I'll take pictures of the rolls. Each roll has 1.25 20 rolls a box the box is made of hard cardboard not metal :-(. So you guys suggest I open them up and search for errors anything in particular I should be looking for?

Those are some pretty spiffy boxes.
Nice eye candy to get someone to buy them.

Uncirculated USMINT rolls have 40 coins in them I believe.

Honestly, you probably won't find anything unusual about the coins, but you will never know until you examine each and every one. To my knowledge, there are no documented errors found on 2006 (P or D) nickels.

However, you can be pretty sure that most businesses and banks will not accept those rolls because a standard nickel roll contains 40 coins rather than 25. You might as well open them, anyway.

You can get similar boxes of the same construction from JP's Corner. They're heavy-duty and last forever.

I have seen $1 nickel rolls from the 1960s, they were pretty common then. 25c cent rolls were also.
