Double Die I know just enough to be dangerous

Need pictures to answer your question. In '90's and later year nickels, it is quite common to see full steps even in well circulated ones. Only high grade ones are where the $ is. If you're looking to fill holes in a collection, you will find them without too much trouble.

Not a full step! You have damage on what looks to be step 1-4 That would not grade as full steps

That little ding or a nick on the steps cuts through the steps so not a full step.

That *may be* one of your better coins.
But because it is one of your better coins does not mean that it ranks high up against coins that are really, really nice.

on a Jefferson nickel it has FS for Felix Schlag, but for grading, FS, meaning 'Full Steps' is important. Big difference.

I’m confused? What are you asking?

You have a nickel with no “fs” Common I have a hand full!

Designer: Felix Schlag (FS) In 1966 these initials were added below Jefferson’s Bust.

Well you need to get a good pic of that area for us and the full coin pics too. It is impossible to tell you why without good pics. Also, many things can happen outside of the mint to coins.
