57D plncht error or cntrft

  1. I found this penny. It's the exact same size of a dime. But it's not a perfect cylindrical shaped coin. Any thoughts please.

It's been cut down for some unknown reason.

That's PMD (post-mint damage) - not an error.

It is a real Cent that was just altered.
    Not counterfeit.

    "plncht"?

    "cntrft"?

I'd like to buy a vowel, please.

Heard a story that kids in the 50's would file down a cent to the size of a dime to put in the 10¢ soda machine.

icon_smile_agree.gif with that. I've heard the same thing. I also heard the kids used chemicals in chemistry class to eat away at the copper until it was the size of a dime.

  8. LoL. Sold for a penny.

  9. One the things that facinate me about coins is the history and stories behind each one. If a penny could talk.

  10. Now I nderstand the difference between the two. Thank you.
