A nickel that can CHANGE YOUR LIFE! I Want to take this time and spread some more knowledge on some finds that I also look for. With a lot of people hunting Lincoln cents due to the large number of errors and varieties people seem to ignore the nickel. It is common knowledge the Lincoln cent is the most popular coin (hints the reason its been around since 1909) and it can give out some life changing finds like the 1969S DDO just to name one that can bring in $50,000+ depending on condition. Now I am sure all of us have heard about the 1913 Liberty Nickel. Now theoretically it is possible to find one in a nickel box. And if you did, we are talking Millions of dollars coming your way. But since the odds would be pretty close to winning the Powerball lotto to find one (1:360,000,000) its just a dream for many. But the Jefferson nickel has a coin that can buy you a house (well not a mansion) and is something I have been searching for and is on my bucket list. Has a fascinating story behind it and is more likely to show up than the 1913 Liberty nickel! 1942S "Frith" Jefferson Nickel This nickel has a estimated value between $100,000 to $200,000 depending on which article you read. In my opinion this is easily a $200,000+ nickel. A lot of attention has been focused on this nickel over the last decade or so with articles and videos on YouTube. What makes this nickel so valuable? Well to simply put it.... ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO EXIST! This 1942S Nickel has a couple things noticeably wrong. 1. The planchet is wrong. The 1942S nickels were supposed to be struck on the 35% silver planchets newly made due to WW2. This is not struck in silver 2. The ONLY nickel NOT on silver with a small mint mark located on the right side of the Monticello in 1942 is Denver. San Francisco 1942s have the Large "S" mint mark above the Monticello. With this error it is small and located to the right of the Monticello. There are plenty of interesting articles on this coin. Who knows? Maybe we just might pull one within this challenge!
