They are extremely valuable. If you check ebay sold listing I just sold one for $500 about a month ago. A also have a few of these 1975 High D Mint Marks. If you can find one in Gem quality and get it graded I could see a few thousand for one!

Finding S and D mint specimens is harder on the East Coast...but not impossible. Especially for nickels (and more so on silver war nickels). Cents, on the other hand...a bit more challenging.

Here in Texas I find S and D pretty common. Its those darn Philadelphia I never get! So when I find a 1955 out of Philly its even more exciting for me!

Those 1955 Ps are tough to find. I only discovered that there were two obverse conditions once I started looking at putting a roll of them together. Most I have are washed out looking while the others are crisp. So hard to find but harder to find with the crisp obverse. And I don't think it's a case of die state. But worth a deeper dive at some point.

It's funny though about what we have trouble finding: location, location, location.

Absolutely happy with this box. Got this amazing "Struck Through" error. A semi low mintage and a couple odds and ends. And of course finished it with a silver :)

The 2009D totals are climbing much faster than I would have guessed. Interesting. Nice greaser by the way. Both sides is not that common in my experience. With the full rim, I'm wondering if that is a weak strike. I might need to look that up...

Yeah the "Five" word is almost completely gone. It is rare indeed to have on both sides. I love finding these struck through errors.

Interesting enough I know a lot of people have trouble finding 2009 but here in Texas I average usually around 6-10 a box. Rarely any phillys tho.

Went to the bank to pick up a couple boxes. The teller informed me if I wanted two sealed boxes or she could give me one sealed and one customer wrapped.

I have mixed emotions on customer wrapped rolls. Either there always searched or little amount of hits. But when I saw these I noticed a strong smell of perfume and the wraps are different colors and types. So I chose the one sealed and one customer wrapped.

We will see in a few hours if I made the right choice. 1012191704-1.jpg

So only half the box was customer wrapped rolls. But it gave out a key and semi key and the nice rotated die error. Very happy overall with the box and am glad those customer wrapped rolls pushed out some very nice finds.

What a absolutely sad box. I was hesitant to even post this box but you guys and gals have my word no matter how crappy a box is I will post it! It still counts as part of this 500 box series and is good to show people you will eventually get a dumpster fire box :(

Surprisingly there were more 40s nickels than 50s
