Check those 2004 P Peace nickels for DDO. That’s a nice one to find in BU condition.

Hi Kevin. I started to do that.....the difference is so subtle, that I was having a hard time with it. I will go back and check once I study a little more on them and find that one thing that will help it click in my mind. It's weird. With the LG date / Sm date 1982 pennies I used to have a hard time. Then something just clicked in my head and now I can tell at a glance.

Look at the mm. If it’s stretched and notched you’ll have one. If the mm has a chip then it’s not the one.

I have yet to find this DDO but it is worth looking for and is a very nice one indeed! But it's on my bucket list to find.

    I’ve found 4 so far. Stages B, C, and D. No stage A yet. But I’m hopeful.

@Kevin Mader . P pulled 2 from a non BU roll that I think I can see doubling on the mm. What do you think? DDO or not.

This looks like the mm with a chip (bottom left of the vertical bar). The date would look a bit mushy as well, but this looks pretty crisp.

Helvetica is Switzerland and that's basically 20 cents US, you just need to find someone willing to exchange. Even if you got 10 cents for it from a coin dealer, you just doubled your money. You won't likely get more than that, but worth a shot.

So with peak season heading my way with my job it's been tough trying to spread some knowledge with fellow nickel enthusiasts on what I look for but I have a few ideas starting tonight.

Alright so with things moving along I would like to share with you guys my Top 14 DDO/DDRs I look for and you should too! I will post one a day for the next 14 days giving each variety a little spot light. Just what to look for in that date and a few high quality Google close up photos. Some of you will know most of these. But for the new hunters out there this should help!

    2004 Philadelphia DDO

This is a beautiful DDO that is still on my bucket list. Many years I have been hunting and have yet to pull one out CRH.

    What to look for

The doubling will be located on the front of the coin (obverse) the most effected areas will be "In God We Trust" the "2004" and the "P" mint mark will show spreading as indicated in the photos below. This should be very easy to spot with a 10x magnifier.

This coins carries a nice premium with a lot of examples to be found in the wild still in MS condition. If you happen to find one in a solid MS66+ you are looking at a nice chunk of change!

This DDR I feel is heavily overlooked and underrated. Some very nice doubling on the reverse. And it makes number 13 on my top 14.

    What to look for

The strongest of the doubling will be located in "United". Doubling can also be found very sharply in E Pluribus Unum with it being dominant in "E"

Sorry for the photos for some reason this is the best the Internet has to offer on this error. I do have a error book with high quality colored photos and it does this error a lot better justice. I can assure you that if you find one it will look better in person. Very happy with the box overall. A ton of common 50s with little amount of 40s.

Alright alright hear me out before saying "I hate these 64s!". I am on the same page as you I too can't stand the 64s. As we all know they minted somewhere around 600 trillion of these if I remember correctly. Alright I'm kinda exaggerating (not really) but they do have a nice DDR. Only thing I ask is at least check the XF+ condition ones. Once you find one you will be hooked.

    What to look for

There are many varieties of this error but most doubling can be found in "E Pluribus Unum" with some varieties having doubling in "Monticello" as well as "United"

Once again you don't have to check all of them but any decent shape ones will be worth the look in my book! I was getting ready to post my finds from today's box here, then it hit me....This is your thread and I , without thinking, just kind of butted it. So if you want me to start my own thread with my finds, please just me know. I'm sorry.
