Now that one is a real beauty!
I can barely see the ink smudge, or at least, it took me a little while to find where it was!
NICE NOTE! It'll look great with that gold type set

Thanks for the comments guys. This morning I was thinking about my collecting habbits philosophically....and I realize that I like mid-grade antique high denomination bills for similar reasons that I like common classic US gold. Now I realize that neither is the "best" investment, but both of these types of items have a significant secondary source of value that makes up a large percentage of their full value. Gatzdon summed it up here,
IF both the currency market and coin market completely tanked(i doubt this would happen, but what if), what kind of items will still have value? The ones with either a high face value, or high precious metal content. Of course this is also assuming that either gold or the american dollar still has value: but my point is that both of these items have a secondary source of value that the "collectibality" part of the market just places a premium on.

Like I said, I don't think either is really the best investment, but it is kind of a "comfort" issue to me. If I had $1500 to spend on a collecible, I would feel more comfortable either purchasing a nice $20 Saint Gaudens, or a decent $1,000 bill, than I would an MS-64 capped bust dime or an early highgrade $5 note(that had a market value of $1500).

Anyways.....enough rambling; It was just kind of revelational to me to figure out why I collect what I collect.

Hey Johnny......I think the same way ,my newphew is a big sports card collector. At the end of the day all he has is a piece of "low quality " cardboard.......AND we have cash, silver and gold.

I used to collect sports cards, and now, the market for them is terrible... I KNOW, I HAVE TRIED TO SELL!
I'm glad I got into coins, it is a fun hobby, and it always gives back
If you are going to collect something, might as well be money or I can say, coin collecting is the only hobby in which you spend money, and you end up with money in return :)

Exactly! That is the perfect summary to all my babbling..lol.

Me too. I still have most of my childhood collection that I thought was worth thousands...after putting a few up on the bay in the last year, I realized I would be lucky to get several hundred for my entire collection.. So, I'm just holding on to the rest, maybe someday they'll have value again.

Holy Smokes! That note is more than $30,000!

    But, it sure is pretty.
