I saw no harm in sharing a dollar because being 7 I'd already learned that if you split a dollar its 50 cents! So I took the dollar and ripped it in half I could feel the enthusiasm on my face. Smiling broadly I told my brother "there you go fifty cents for you and fifty cents for me". Immediately I handed him his half and he didn't look as pleased as I thought he'd be. He said "Great, just great. Now it's not worth anything!" And he told me it was illegal to ruin money like that. (I got worried but didn't believe him too much)

The other day I was talking to my mom about mailing me out the last of my coin collection she had there and I could hear my brother in the background going on about a dollar. He took the phone and blurted out I'm going to send you my half... Thats when I had to break it to him that the 2 moves I made from our old house to the new one they live in all the way to my apartment in cali I don't know what happened to my half. Though he was sad I don't have the half of our worthless dollar he was happy enough that I remembered the fight itself . Even when I do find my half this one means the most 16 years he kept this dollar.

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot.
50 cents That 50 cents isn't worth 50 cents... But it used to be worth a dollar. When I was 7 and my older brother 8 we found a dollar. Nothing special about it just a dollar. We both wanted it. Not to share it, not to spend it, not to collect it, just to claim it as our own.
